AVANT-PROPOSMon grand-père a écrit ce roman d'anticipation à une époque où le Groenland était hermétiquement fermé au monde extérieur depuis deux cents ans, période pendant laquelle il était interdit aux Groenlandais d'en sortir.Aujourd'hui, à la lecture de ses anticipations, dont certaines se sont réalisées longtemps après la publication de son roman, on ne peut s'empêcher de voir en l'auteur le chamane inuit d'autrefois, qui voyageait librement autour du monde et était capable de prédire l'avenir.En fait, le stade de développement culturel et technique atteint alors par les Inuits du Groenland révèle leur talent exceptionnel pour s'adapter à l'un des climats les plus froids et les plus rudes de la planète.À cette époque, il n'y avait ni livres ni écrits, et toute la mémoire de mon peuple dépendait uniquement des capacités du cerveau à emmagasiner de grandes quantités d'informations.L'homme blanc ayant considéré la culture inuite comme une culture primitive, le monde a évolué dans l'ignorance des Groenlandais, qui sont dans l'ensemble restés des inconnus.Le roman d'anticipation
