Abstract
Ce livre est un témoignage du mandat de recteur rédigé par l’acteur principal de ce qui s’est produit à l’Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO) entre 2015 et 2020, une période courte, intense et fructueuse. Marquée par un destin sinueux, toujours en quête d’appui pour poursuivre son développement, l’UQO est aussi traversée par des tensions et des conflits internes qui freinent son parcours. L’histoire des institutions est indispensable pour comprendre la transformation et le développement de la société. Ici, cette histoire se vit à travers la trajectoire d’une organisation durant une période donnée. Parler du mandat de recteur, c’est parler des universités, de ses difficultés et de ses réussites également. Cette expérience doit être utile. Elle ne sert à rien si elle n’est pas consignée dans une mémoire collective. La première partie de cet ouvrage rend compte des projets et de leur contexte, de l’action entreprise et des résultats. La deuxième porte sur les leviers qui permettent la réalisation des projets et leurs contraintes. Ce récit sur les défis et contraintes de l’université s’adresse aux corps professoraux, à la communauté étudiante et aux gestionnaires ainsi qu’à toute personne intéressée par le développement récent des universités au Québec.
