Ideology in EU Politics? An Analysis of the Positions of Political Parties on EU Issues

Abstract
In this research note, I verify to what extent EU issues shape the European Parliament campaigns of parties across Europe, by assessing whether the parties that form the political groups in the European parliament take coherent positions on EU issues. The main research question is whether the positions that parties take on EU issues are mostly driven by country-level factors, or by their membership of a group in the EP.
