Makalah ini meninjau kondisi lingkungan hidup dan sumber daya alam Indonesia dalam Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Panjang (RPJP) 2005-2025, melakukan refleksi terhadap tantangan-tantangan yang dijumpai, serta menyumbangkan visi untuk pembangunan sektor yang sama untuk periode RPJP 2025-2045. Lebih spesifik ditinjau masalah kualitas lingkungan hidup, ketahanan air, ketahanan energi dan kemandiran pangan serta peran daerah pesisir dan kelautan dalam kurun RPJP 2005-2045. Menghadapi permasalahan-permasalahan yang dijumpai, makalah ini mengusulkan visi pembangunan serta sejumlah rekomendasi secara spesifik mengenai pembangunan lingkungan hidup dan sumber daya alam untuk dikembangkan dalam RPJP 2025-2045.
