Abstract
L’objectif de cet article est d’examiner les fictions qui entourent l’IA, à travers quelques-unes de leurs représentations utopiques et dystopiques, réalisées dans le champ des arts plastiques. En partant de l’exemple du projet World Brain de Stephan Degoutin et Gwenola Wagon, nous étudierons l’inquiétude exprimée par un certain nombre d’artistes au sujet des conséquences éthiques, philosophiques et politiques de l’application de l’intelligence artificielle à plusieurs aspects de la vie. Par ailleurs, nous utiliserons l’idée de l’écologie cybernétique, introduite par le poète Richard Brautigan, comme une proposition nous permettant de chercher des pratiques alternatives et des expérimentations qui placent la nature, l’humain et l’IA dans une position égalitaire. À travers l’œuvre de l’artiste et écrivain James Bridle, nous allons contextualiser l’IA dans une éthique de respect des intelligences différentes de la nôtre, questionnant ainsi l’anthropocentrisme de la philosophie et de l’histoire occidentales.
