Dans le sillage des travaux fondateurs de Jan Baetens (bien présent au cœur de ce dossier en tant qu’auteur et abondamment cité par les autres contributeurs), les deux dernières décennies ont connu un regain d’intérêt pour le roman-photo sous toutes ses formes, de ses premières apparitions dans l’Italie d’après-guerre au sein de la revue Il mio sogno (1947) à ses appropriations par la culture savante (Duane Michals, Michael Snow, Benoît Peeters, …), sans oublier ses plus récents détournement...
