À partir d’une approche subjective, j’examine mes propres lectures d’Histoire sociale du béluga (2016) et de La conquête du béluga (2020) de l’artiste pluridisciplinaire gaspésienne Maryse Goudreau. Ces deux textes dramatiques se présentent respectivement comme des transcriptions sélectives des procès-verbaux de l’Assemblée législative du Québec et de la Chambre des communes du Canada. Là où la baleine semble largement étouffée par les discours humains qui ont historiquement contrôlé sa trajectoire, le montage documentaire instaure une coprésence moins hiérarchisée entre les points de vue humain et plus-qu’humain, dans les textes comme dans ma réception.
