Abstract
<p>With the release of Disney's Encanto, the topic of intergenerational trauma has surfaced on social media and has been reintroduced into mainstream discourse. This paper analyzes the film that was released in November of 2021 and evaluates the concept of regression and character archetypes, aspects that may seem attractive and relatable to the audience. To understand the effect Encanto has had on the audience, samples were taken from TikTok and analyzed within context to determine how this film has resonated with its audience.</p>
