Abstract
Dans les États sociaux occidentaux, citoyens et citoyennes jouent un rôle de plus en plus important dans la prestation de services de santé de proximité. Les pratiques citoyennes sont devenues des compléments essentiels aux actions de santé publique, en particulier dans les quartiers vulnérables de grandes villes où des pratiques portées par des citoyen·nes ont connu un rayonnement important, notamment depuis la pandémie de Covid-19. À partir d’une lecture croisée de certaines de nos recherches au Québec et au Brésil, cet article propose d’examiner empiriquement comment les pratiques citoyennes, les pratiques d’intervenant·es de proximité et leurs agencements peuvent représenter des vecteurs de transformation en agissant sur les inégalités sociales. Aujourd’hui plus que jamais, les pratiques citoyennes en santé de proximité, tout comme les personnes qui les mettent en œuvrent, sont précaires et peu reconnues. En somme, ces expériences invitent à s’interroger davantage sur les pratiques citoyennes comme activité de travail, c’est-à-dire à s’intéresser à leurs conditions d’émergence, leurs déploiements, les dynamiques qui s’y produisent et leur potentiel de transformation des inégalités instituées.
