Abstract

Modern society prioritizes productivity over individual health, resulting in increased work-related illnesses and physical health problems. However, customizing space towards individual body status and providing timely alert are difficult to achieve in open-plan offices. This study proposes a multi-modal wearable Mixed Reality (MR) system which integrates real-time biometric data, and provides dynamic mediation to enhance body awareness. This paper presents the system design architecture, a signal mapping design, a proof-of-concept prototype (MMRWE), and a pilot user study. The user study yields positive results on the prototype usability based on qualitative measurement, and provides valuable insights towards future development towards workspace health and well-being.
