Abstract
Comme le nœud du changement Internet, blogues, Web 2.0, mondialisation, culture, immigration, identité. Autant de termes qui illustrent le changement tel que vécu par des milliards d’individus dans le monde. Est-on suffisamment outillé pour y faire face ? Quels sont les enjeux cruciaux qui méritent d’être soulevés et analysés ? Quels sont les défis de la communication face au changement ? L’individu peut-il être réduit à l’usage des technologies ou à la réception des médias ? Quelle place la recherche francophone en communication occupe-t-elle dans ce malstrom ? Les quelque vingt textes de cet ouvrage se penchent d’abord sur la place de la communication dans le changement social en développant une posture théorique et critique. Ils abordent la question des changements technologiques que connaît le monde et analysent la société de l’information, le Web 2.0 et la collaboration comme autant de phénomènes symbolisant le changement social. Ils s’intéressent à la dynamique médiatique du changement, et étudient l’évolution des cultures tout comme les représentations des communautés culturelles dans les médias. Enfin, les auteurs questionnent le caractère distinct de la recherche francophone en communication en se penchant sur des régions aussi diversifiées que la France, le Québec, les Antilles et d’autres. Par sa polyvalence, l’ouvrage s’adresse autant aux étudiants en communication qu’aux chercheurs qui désirent approfondir certains aspects de leur champ d’expertise.
