En collaboration avec l’Istituto Italiano di Cultura, l’Institut d’études internationales de Montréal et la Chaire Unesco d’étude des fondements philosophiques de la justice et de la société démocratique, des « journées italiennes » ont été tenues les 1er et 2 novembre 2018, à l’enseigne du rayonnement de la pensée italienne. L’accent a été mis sur le célèbre philosophe Gramsci car on célébrait en même temps la publication aux PUL, en traduction française, du livre de Alberto Cardosi, décédé prématurément, La pensée du jeune Gramsci, paru en italien sous les auspices de la Fondation Gramsci. En première partie, on retrouvera les échanges qui ont eu lieu lors de la Table ronde très animée du 1er novembre, à l’UAQM. Trois éminents spécialistes italiens de Gramsci, les professeurs Caputo, Cazzaniga et le docteur Giasi nous ont fait l’honneur de discuter de « l’actualité philosophique et politique » de Gramsci tout en répondant à nos questions. La table ronde a été suivie, le lendemain, par un mini-colloque à l’Istituto Italiano di Cultura. On pourra lire, dans leur ordre chronologique d’apparition, une sélection des contributions des chercheurs canadiens et italiens qui se sont attachées à illustrer durant le 2 novembre « Le rayonnement de la pensée italienne » de la Renaissance à nos jours.
