Préface de Jena Renaud Avec cet ouvrage, le lecteur découvrira le résultat des recherches et des réflexions de penseurs québécois et français dont l'oeuvre exprime une quête de vérité et de beauté. Au fond, il s'agit d'une étude portant sur des questions essentielles, celles qui ne devraient laisser personne indifférent. Ainsi le lecteur est-il appelé à témoigner d'une générosité, à la fois intime et supérieure, qui nous habite et nous sollicite, et que le philosophe libanais René Habachi nomme « le transabsurde ». Manifestement, il y a là quelque chose du principe même de cet esprit d'aventure dont je tente de dire les métamorphoses. N'y a-t-il pas une intentionnalité originelle de l'âme qui bouscule sans cesse nos théories et nos sciences ? Avec des Jacques Janelle, Alexis Klimov, Rodrigue LaRue, Jean Brun ou Olivier Clément, il ne s'agit pas d'investir sa soif d'absolu dans des messianismes séculiers, mais de reconnaître le caractère irréductible des personnes, de montrer l'urgence et la patience des fidélités créatrices, celles qui dépassent la finitude de nos pensées, de nos actes. En ce sens, le langage s'ouvre sur un silence qui pousse l'âme vers le large, là où le tragique de notre condition apparaît comme un « impossible nécessaire ».
