Abstract
Cet article est consacré à un corpus de textes dramatiques d’expression française écrits par des auteurs d’Afrique subsaharienne depuis les années 1990. Ce théâtre postcolonial est fortement marqué par les désillusions vis-à-vis des Indépendances et les échecs des projets de démocratie dans les nations anciennement colonisées. L’article analyse le rapport aux figures féminines et aux motifs de la grossesse et de l’engendrement dans ces dramaturgies qui optent, le plus souvent, pour un détour par la fable mettant au jour une poétique de la mort et de la mémoire. L’article rend compte des modalités diverses selon lesquelles ces questions se déclinent, à la croisée d’enjeux esthétiques et politiques, dans des textes de différentes époques, jusqu’à nos jours.
