Abstract
À luz das iniciativas de transição energética contemporâneas e da grande demanda mineral de seus ciclos tecnológicos, discutiremos os aspectos político-econômicos do boom das commodities minerais ocorrido no início do século XXI e os impactos percebidos na mineração brasileira durante este contexto. Argumentamos que o cenário de transição energética atual deve pressionar novamente a exploração mineral no país, principalmente, a partir dos projetos relacionados às reservas de manganês, níquel e terras raras. Desde uma perspectiva geopolítica e de uma análise holística destes dois momentos históricos, evidenciaremos algumas tendências e desafios para as próximas décadas da mineração desenvolvida no Brasil, sem perder de vista a dimensão regional.
