A acidose ruminal é uma patologia que ocorre em bovinos devido a ingestão de grande quantidade de carboidratos altamente fermentáveis, o que pode levar o animal a uma queda na produção e até mesmo evoluir para a morte.Esse estudo tem como objetivo relatar um surto de acidose ruminal em bovinos de corte confinados em uma propriedade na região de cascalho rico -MG.Na propriedade em questão ocorreu a morte de 17 animais ao todo, oito em um período de dois dias, após serem submetidos a um aumento brusco na quantidade de ração, sem período de adaptação.Foi possível realizar o exame de necropsia em dois animais.A partir do histórico, sinais apresentados pelos animais e lesões encontradas no exame post mortem, o diagnóstico foi de acidose ruminal.Conclui-se que é imprescindível destacar a necessidade da transição alimentar gradual e monitorada, com acompanhamento profissional, visto que a negligência dessa prática resultou em sérios impactos na propriedade, acarretando prejuízos na saúde, e a morte de vários animais.
