Contexte : Les entérobactéries productrices de bêta-lactamases à spectre étendu (BLSE) sont associées à de graves infections résistantes aux antimicrobiens chez les Canadiens.Les humains sont exposés aux entérobactéries productrices de BLSE par de nombreuses voies interconnectées.Pour mieux protéger les Canadiens, il est important de comprendre quelles sont les sources et les activités qui contribuent le plus à l'exposition aux BLSE et aux voies d'infection au Canada.Objectif : Cette étude de la portée avait pour but de décrire de manière thématique les facteurs potentiellement associés à la colonisation, au portage et/ou à l'infection par des entérobactéries productrices de BLSE chez les humains provenant de pays ayant un indice de développement humain très élevé et de décrire les caractéristiques de l'étude.Méthodes : Quatre bases de données (PubMed, CAB Direct, Web of Science, EBSCOhost) ont été consultées pour retrouver les études potentiellement pertinentes.Les articles ont été sélectionnés pour inclusion et les facteurs ont été identifiés, regroupés thématiquement et décrits.Résultats : L'étude a permis d'identifier 381 articles pertinents.Les facteurs ont été regroupés en 13 thèmes : utilisation d'antimicrobiens, animaux, comorbidités et symptômes, communauté, données démographiques, alimentation et consommation de substances, soins de santé, ménage, profession, colonisation/portage/infection antérieure par une BLSE, soins en résidence, voyages et autres.Les thèmes les plus fréquents sont les données démographiques, les soins de santé, l'utilisation d'antibiotiques, les comorbidités et les symptômes.La plupart des articles ont rapporté des facteurs en milieu hospitalier (86 %) et ont évalué des facteurs pour les infections par des entérobactéries productrices de BLSE (52 %).Conclusion : Cette étude de la portée a fourni des informations précieuses sur les thèmes factoriels qui ont été bien décrits (e.g., les soins de santé) et ceux qui ont été explorés moins fréquemment (e.g., l'alimentation ou le contact avec les animaux).Les thèmes établis couvrent les contextes humains, animaux et environnementaux, ce qui confirme la nécessité d'une diversité de points de vue et d'une approche multisectorielle pour atténuer l'exposition à la résistance aux antimicrobiens.
