Abstract
Cet article met en lumière la distribution géographique de la norme endogène du français québécois à l’aide de la méthode des cartes mentales, issue du domaine de la dialectologie perceptive, mais jusqu’ici très peu utilisée dans l’étude des normes linguistiques. Les résultats révèlent que la norme endogène du français québécois est souvent localisée dans les grands centres d’agglomération de Montréal et de Québec, avec une préférence marquée pour le français parlé à Québec, ces représentations pouvant être expliquées par des facteurs principalement extralinguistiques (notamment démographiques, démolinguistiques et politiques). L’étude met également en lumière les limites méthodologiques de certains types de cartes, soulignant ainsi l’importance des stimuli utilisés dans la collecte de données.
