Abstract
Cet article prend appui sur une recherche au sein de deux Églises évangéliques québécoises qui relèvent d’un modèle dit « non dénominationnel ». Il interroge les façons qu’elles ont de s’identifier et de se présenter. Pour ce faire, nous montrons que les modes de présentation (en particulier le nom) et d’identification qu’elles mettent en œuvre visent à constituer un christianisme en phase avec un Québec sécularisé et à se distancier d’institutions (aussi bien l’Église catholique que des dénominations protestantes) dont l’image a été considérablement écornée par des scandales au cours des dernières décennies.
