Abstract

As infecções fúngicas invasivas apresentam alta taxa de mortalidade, principalmente quando acometem pacientes imunocomprometidos. O objetivo deste artigo é relatar o caso de um paciente acometido por infecção fúngica rara do gênero Fusarium spp., durante tratamento de leucemia linfocítica aguda, abrangendo desde aspectos clínicos e laboratoriais até o diagnóstico. É importante destacar que o estudo realizado foi aprovado pelo comitê de ética em pesquisa com seres humanos da Fundação Hemoam, local da pesquisa, sob parecer número 6.001.277, além da autorização do paciente através do Termo de Assentimento Livre e Esclarecido. Ao lidar com um Fusarium spp. infecção, o resultado clínico do paciente depende em grande parte da resolução da imunossupressão, particularmente da recuperação de neutrófilos em pacientes neutropênicos.
