Abstract

Le présent ouvrage est le fruit d’une recherche évaluative participative menée par une équipe de chercheurs québécois et haïtiens en collaboration avec des partenaires du Projet d’économie sociale et solidaire Québec-Haïti en agroalimentaire . Il présente notamment le travail de femmes haïtiennes qui ont réalisé des cuisines collectives et approvisionné des cantines scolaires dans des zones rurales à Labrousse et à Rivière-Froide en adoptant une approche qui mise sur l’économie circulaire. Tenant compte du contexte et des politiques publiques d’Haïti et mettant à contribution les concepts de capabilités , d’ empowerment et de co-construction des politiques publiques , les auteurs soulignent que, malgré ses limites, le projet est innovant sur plusieurs points : adoption d’une stratégie de développement plutôt que du modèle de l’aide humanitaire ; renforcement des acteurs locaux plutôt que de leur imposer une programmation centralisée ; recherche d’un modèle haïtien de cuisines collectives plutôt que d’importer un modèle québécois ou péruvien ; reconnaissance du rôle actif des femmes et, de manière générale, des communautés locales plutôt que de les marginaliser ou de les exclure. En conclusion, l’ouvrage identifie cinq conditions pour que le projet fasse école et que l’économie sociale et solidaire fasse mouvement en Haïti.
