This paper is intended to be the first of a series of papers and an introduction towards a white paper for the generation of a future standard for quality control testing of electrical machines for EV market. The focus of this paper is testing experiences and areas for attention, such as PDIV, surge rise times, type of waveform, repetition rate, as well as polarity. Future discussions and more publications will be forthcoming from the IEEE DEIS Transportation Electrification Technical Committee.
