Abstract
Il est fréquent de penser que les conversations sur internet sont le lieu d’une simulation, d’une tricherie. Mais une autre caractéristique, étudiée dans cet article tient en l’annulation des corps dans l’expression des émotions. A partir d’une étude menée principalement sur les sites de rencontre aux Etats-Unis l’auteure réfléchit sur la manière dont ces émotions peuvent se transmettre en ligne. Elle s’interroge aussi sur la façon dont la technologie réarticule la réalité corporelle et ces émotions. Elle en conclut que si la relation traditionnelle de type romantique mêlait le réel et l’imagination, la relation en ligne découple quant à elle le processus et rend paradoxalement indispensable, pour s’accomplir la relation en face à face.
