La Francophonie est une organisation qui regroupe de multiples pays, ayant adopté par consensus une langue à communication interétatique à savoir le français, afin de favoriser l’intercompréhension et les échanges culturels, scientifiques, économiques et techniques entre ses membres. Dans une optique récente, cette vaste entreprise exhorte au dialogue tout en veillant au respect de la diversité et des visions en son sein. Ce qui appelle à un certain métissage car le français cohabite avec d’autres parlers cette fois-ci locaux. Nous voyons par-là la subdivision par exemple du français en plusieurs variétés influencées par les traditions de chaque pays. Le français devient une réalité plurielle et il n’est plus enfermé dans une structure homogène. Bien au contraire, nous avons des sous-systèmes au système de référence avec des colorations originales. La grammaire, le vocabulaire et la prononciation du français s’en ressentent. Il en découle un français de France, un français ivoirien, un français canadien… En résumé, autant de vies que de français parlés. Ce constat a fait couler l’encre de beaucoup de spécialistes qui s’occupent du contact des langues, des représentations et stéréotypes en terrain francophone, des politiques linguistiques…
