La forêt de Huelgoat, dans le Finistère intérieur, est célèbre pour son chaos granitique. Par la description des singularités de cet écosystème particulier et la présentation du contexte historique et social de ce territoire, le texte s’emploie à souligner quelques principes qui gouvernent les comportements des Huelgoatain·es vis-à-vis de ces blocs imposants. Placés sous le régime de l’ambivalence et de l’incertitude dans une « forêt vivante », ces rochers fournissent également l’occasion d’une remise en question de ce qu’être vivant veut dire.
