Le point sur le revenu des Québécois au sortir d’une des grandes récessions de l’histoire, les économies industrialisées voient les revenus moyens des particuliers croître timidement. dans plusieurs pays, les inégalités de revenus se sont par ailleurs creusées au cours des dernières décennies. Qu’en est-il au Québec ? Dix ans après l’adoption d’une loi pour lutter contre la pauvreté, où en sommes-nous? Pour sa quatrième édition, Le Québec économique fait le point sur la répartition du revenu, dans un contexte mondial qui demeure fragile. Grâce aux contributions de plusieurs collaborateurs, l’ouvrage présente un portrait de l’évolution des revenus au Québec, tant au cours des dernières décennies que de manière prospective. il analyse les tendances en matière de revenu et se penche sur sa répartition, se demandant notamment comment cette dernière est affectée par les impôts et les transferts et, de manière générale, par les politiques publiques. Les auteurs abordent également la question des travailleurs à faible revenu, et font le point sur les inégalités économiques entre différents groupes de la population : hommes et femmes, immigrants et non-immigrants, jeunes et moins jeunes. Comme dans chaque volume du Québec économique, le lecteur trouvera à la fin de cet ouvrage 50 fiches thématiques qui regroupent les indicateurs les plus pertinents et fournissent des données permettant de saisir l’état et de comprendre les tendances de l’économie québécoise.
