Mário Soares exerceu o cargo de Presidente da República entre 1986 e 1995, tendo tido a oportunidade de pronunciar 10 discursos comemorativos do 25 de Abril ao longo dos seus dois mandatos. O presente estudo contextualiza e analisa os traços configuracionais mais relevantes desses discursos, do ponto de vista da Análise do Discurso. Em particular, focaliza a estrutura e o funcionamento dos títulos respetivos, as suas isotopias dominantes, os seus efeitos de discurso mais operativos e, no quadro da sua organização macroestrutural, a exortação final que eles realizam.
