Cet article vise à montrer que, en Argentine, l’importance des réglementations actuelles et leur mise en oeuvre, ainsi que la jouissance effective des droits qu’elles prévoient, devraient permettre une prise en charge et un traitement optimal des personnes handicapées. Malheureusement, les mécanismes de financement qui devraient soutenir le diagnostic et le traitement des personnes en situation de handicap font face à de graves problèmes financiers dus à la situation économique qui touche le système public, la sécurité sociale et les organismes d’assurance médicale prépayée. Ces problèmes viennent contrecarrer les objectifs visant le bien-être des personnes handicapées, ce qui rend impératif de concevoir et de mettre en oeuvre des politiques publiques pour remédier à cette situation.
