Abstract
Les désastres et les catastrophes sont indissociables de la culture, indissociables de nos pratiques, de nos convictions et de nos aspirations collectives. L’anthropologie des catastrophes est donc un champ disciplinaire pertinent pour étudier les désastres et catastrophes qui marqueront de plus en plus notre futur. Cet article présente les objets d’études et les notions centrales de cette anthropologie. Nous y montrons en quoi nos cultures occidentales octroient un caractère événementiel aux désastres et aux catastrophes et en quoi ce caractère événementiel est insuffisant pour comprendre notre avenir.
