Abstract
Silent atrial fibrillation (AF) represents 10% to 40% of all AF patients with morbidity and mortality rates similar to those of symptomatic AF.1–3 Stroke can be the first manifestation of silent AF with the lack of use of oral anticoagulation therapy.4 Patients with implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) are at high risk (up to 50%) of developing AF.5
