Abstract
I am a product of a love union between an Albino, Coloured man and a white woman. I identify as mixed race, and more recently Coloured. 1 I grew up in Canada and am writing this from South Africa, where I now live. As much as this is an essay born from academia, it is also a journey born from experience. My experience is not one that can be easily universalised, or even collectivised: it’s a lonely identity path.
