La (de)construcción de identidad en Las Reputaciones de Juan Gabriel Vásquez

Abstract
Este trabajo pone en cuestión el constructo de la identidad en la novela Las Reputaciones de Juan Gabriel Vásquez. A través de un análisis de los personajes que tienen identidades fraccionadas, se mostrará que la caricatura, así como factores formales de la narrativa contribuyen a mostrar la volubilidad de la identidad y la memoria. En realidad, todos los personajes procuran luchar contra el olvido y se crean o quieren deshacerse de su reputación para invertir en su posterioridad. Finalmente, se puede establecer que la caricatura como la cultura de cancelación se parecen en el punto de querer expresar una opinión específica sobre una persona, pero el tratamiento de estos medios puede causar consecuencias graves: el aspecto de querer ‘hacer’ justicia es problemático si se concentra en interpretaciones limitadas y son tratadas en un espacio público que no está bien regulado.
