Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Le opinioni intorno al Touring Club Italiano oscillano fra il moderato accoglimento e il purismo della tradizione; tali posizioni sono ben visibili soprattutto negli articoli e nelle voci lessicografiche dedicati ai forestierismi touring e club, da una parte condannati, dall’altra accolti come segno di innovazione.||Abstract : This paper is about the linguistic insights published between the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century by the Rivista del Touring Club Italiano, also highlighting the cultural links between the intellectuals of the Touring Club Italiano with contemporary linguistic policies and lexicographic trends. Particular attention is dedicated to the monthly magazine’s interests in the linguistic protection of commercial and tourist activities, the main expressions of which lie in the judgments on the naming of hotels and signs, and in the automotive and railway lexicon, which during the first years of the twentieth century was the protagonist of important innovations from a lexicographic point of view. Opinions around the Touring Club Italiano oscillate between moderate acceptance and the purism of tradition; these positions are clearly visible above all in the articles and lexicographic entries dedicated to touring and club foreignism, on the one hand condemned, on the other welcomed as a sign of innovation.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
