Abstract
Objetivo: Avaliar os efeitos do isolamento social na alimentação e nutrição de crianças da rede municipal de ensino de Piracicaba, SP, durante a pandemia de COVID-19. Métodos: Pesquisa descritiva, analítica e prospectiva com questionários preenchidos por responsáveis de crianças entre 24 e 120 meses matriculadas em creches/escolas públicas. Resultados: Foram analisados 3.054 questionários completos. Observou-se mudanças significativas nos padrões alimentares, alterações fisiológicas e na rotina alimentar das crianças. Apesar da oferta de frutas e verduras na alimentação escolar, muitos alunos não consumiram esses alimentos em casa durante a pandemia. Conclusão: A pandemia impactou a renda familiar e os hábitos alimentares, indicando a necessidade de políticas públicas para mitigar deficiências alimentares e nutricionais identificadas.
