Abstract
The start of deliveries of Canadian lethal and heavy weapons to Ukraine in 2022 and reports about rapid depletion of their stocks have aroused natural interest in the scale and structure of the Canadian defence industry. This country produces only a few stand-alone defence systems, but mainly components and parts for American military platforms. The author provides an overview of the current state of Canada's defence industry and an analysis of its inherent features. Some new points in the official approaches to the development of the military-industrial complex are also highlighted.
