La posture transclasse, telle que définie par Chantal Jaquet, permet de porter un regard empreint de solidarité sur une culture populaire parfois cernée par la pauvreté. Dans la mesure où la reconfiguration des luttes politiques contemporaines suppose l’établissement de nouvelles identités politiques, suivant Ernesto Laclau et Chantal Mouffe, le récit autobiographique de l’écrivain ou de l’écrivaine transclasse s’avère d’autant plus précieux qu’il suppose une capacité unique à naviguer entre les discours : ceux de leur classe d’origine comme de celle d’arrivée. C’est à cette faculté de passer d’un code à l’autre, d’un quartier à l’autre et de montrer, de par leur récit, l’ampleur du fossé des inégalités, que nous convoquent les récits Burgundy de Mélanie Michaud et Mélasse de fantaisie de Francis Ouellette.
