Abstract
Abstract This contribution reflects a three-way conversation involving professors Martti Koskenniemi, Päivi Leino-Sandberg and Jan Klabbers, conducted at the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Erik Castrén Institute of International Law and Human Rights. It touches on a diversity of themes, including the role of international organizations in international law, the populist ‘backlash’, the problems and prospects of expert governance, the possibility of a global virtue ethics, and what a critical approach to international law may entail.
