Abstract

O presente trabalho é fruto de pesquisa secundária e levantamento bibliográfico. Tem como fio condutor a formação social brasileira e o racismo estrutural. Nosso objetivo é apresentar alguns elementos no sentido de problematizar a criminalização e o extermínio da juventude negra e pobre brasileira que tem se realizado através da implementação da guerra às drogas. Neste sentido, a política denominada de guerra às drogas se configura como dispositivo central para continuidade histórica da violência do Estado brasileiro contra a população pobre e negra. Além do extermínio da juventude negra, esta política também se torna responsável diretamente pelo aumento do encarceramento desta mesma população. Conclui-se que o proibicionismo e a guerra pretensamente às drogas produzem efeitos nefastos principalmente para as populações mais vulnerabilizadas e se mantém como política pública em detrimento das evidências que mostram seus efeitos. Assim, este artigo busca contribuir para o debate sobre a temático a partir da pesquisa realizada.
