Abstract
Enfants enrôlés aux conflits, filles et femmes violées et abattues innocemment, la mémoire des victimes des guerres civiles postcoloniales est souvent réduite au secret. Elle trouve cependant dans les romans un lieu d’expression de sa multiformité. Ce travail fournit une vue globale de la construction mémorielle des guerres civiles irakienne (la guerre civile de 2003) et congolaise (la guerre civile de 1997) dans l’espace fictionnel d’Emmanuel Dongala et de Yasmina Khadra. Il analyse les œuvres Johnny chien méchant (2002) et Les Sirènes de Bagdad (2006) en montrant comment la fiction dit la violence de l’histoire. Le travail s’appuie sur les palimpsestes, les transpositions et les représentations propres à la fiction littéraire pour montrer comment Dongala et Khadra mettent au jour une véritable poétique de l’horreur et du traumatisme dont la figure centrale est celle de la victime.
