Abstract

Kecenderungan alexithyima adalah kondisi individu yang mengalami kesulitan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengkomunikasikan emosi sehingga individu terkesan menarik diri dari sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana tingkat kecenderungan alexithymia pada mahasiswa Semester Akhir Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Halu Oleo dan mendeskripsiskan hasil presentase. Metode penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian kuatitatif metode pendekatan deskriptif analisis. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 378 mahasiswa. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diambil menggunakan teknik proposive sampling yang menghasilkan jumlah sebjek sebanyak 105 orang mahasiswa semester akhir. Instrumen penelitian ini menggunakan skala kecenderungan alexithymia yaitu Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20 (TAS-20). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebanyak 20 responden (19%) mengalami tingkat kecenderungan alexithymia rendah, kecenderungan alexithymia sedang sebanyak 65 responden (61.9%) dan kecenderungan alexithymia tinggi sebanyak 20 responden (19%), karakteristik responden pada jenis kelamin terbanyak yaitu perempuan dengan tingkat kecenderungan alexithymia sedang 36,2%, berdasarkan usia terbanyak yaitu 19-21 tahun dengan tingkat kategori sedang 34.4%, dan pada semester yang ditempuh terdapat pada semester enam dengan kategori sedang 30.5%. Diharapkan pada responden untuk perlu mengeskpresikan emosinya dan individu lain mampu mengarahkan dalam mengendalikan emosi, memanfaatkan emosi tersebuk dengan baik dan tersusun. Untuk peneliti selanjutnya disarankan mengambil populasi yang lebih luas guna meminimalisir adanya kesalahan penelitian atau dapat melakukan pengembangan subjek yang berbeda.
