Asuransi jiwa seumur hidup adalah jenis asuransi jiwa yang memberikan proteksi asuransi seumur hidup. Penentuan cadangan premi sangat penting untuk menunjang keuangan dan keberlanjutan bisnis perusahaan asuransi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan besarnya cadangan premi tahunan dari asuransi jiwa seumur hidup untuk laki–laki yang berusia 40, 45, dan 50 tahun dengan menggunakan metode canadian. Perhitungan cadangan premi dengan metode canadian diawali dengan menentukan nilai anuitas menggunakan tingkat suku bunga dan usia peserta asuransi dengan bantuan Tabel Mortalita Indonesia 2019, selanjutnya menghitung premi bersih tunggal dan premi bersih tahunan, kemudian menghitung premi bersih lanjutan dan nilai cadangan akhir tahun ke-t. Diperoleh cadangan premi untuk laki-laki berusia 40 tahun pada akhir tahun ke-70 sebesar Rp.110.392.315,04, untuk laki-laki berusia 45 tahun pada akhir tahun ke-65 sebesar Rp. 137.290.896,04 dan untuk laki-laki berusia 50 tahun pada akhir tahun ke-60 sebesar Rp. 163.720.298,01.
