Trichoplusia ni , the cabbage looper, is a generalist herbivore with over 160 known host plants and which has caused economic damage to tomato, eggplant, sweet pepper and cucumber in greenhouses in British Columbia and Ontario. Managing Trichoplusia ni can be challenging, due to insecticide resistance and resistance to strains of Bacillus thuringiensis . Recent research on biological control agents of T. ni has included studies of Nabis americoferus (generalist damsel bug), of native (e.g., Campoletis sonorensis ) and exotic parasitoids (e.g., Cotesia vanessae , Compsilura concinnata ) and of pathogens (e.g., commercial products, including Btk and Loopex ® ) and these are reviewed in this chapter.
