Strawberry blossom weevil, Anthonomus rubi , was first detected in British Columbia, Canada, in 2019, where it is now established in the Fraser Valley. As of 2023, A. rubi had not been found outside British Columbia in Canada. In Europe, parasitoids from several families of Hymenoptera are known to attack weevils from the genus Anthonomus , and most of these appear to be specialists. Foreign exploration in Europe for parasitoids for import into Canada started in 2021, and at least one parasitoid has been reared from A. rubi in British Columbia. The first stages of biological control research for A. rubi in Canada are reviewed.
