Anthonomus eugeniiCano, Pepper Weevil / Charançon du poivron (Coleoptera: Curculionidae)
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The pepper weevil, Anthonomus eugenii , native to Mexico, is now found in transient populations in southern Ontario, Canada. A pest of Capsicum spp., the pepper weevil caused significant crop losses in Ontario in 2016 and has occurred sporadically since 2016. Pepper weevil is challenging to manage with insecticides because the majority of its life cycle is spent inside pepper fruits. Cultural controls, including physical barriers and sanitation, can help prevent pepper weevil invasion and persistence inside greenhouses, but there is also interest in developing biological control, RNA interference and sterile insect technique-based management programmes for pepper weevil in Canada. The chapter reviews surveys for natural enemies of pepper weevil conducted across North America and research studying a promising parasitoid of pepper weevil, Jaliscoa hunteri . Recommendations for future research and the next steps in developing a biological control programme for A. eugenii are discussed.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; both teacher heads agree on what is shown here.
