Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Native to south-eastern Europe and Asia, Russian olive ( Elaeagnus angustifolia ) is invasive in North America, including certain regions of western Canada, where it was originally introduced, in part, by the Government of Canada Prairie Shelterbelt Program. Russian olive escapes cultivation into riparian habitats, where conditions are favourable for its germination and dispersal. Similar to other invasive plants, Russian olive can displace native vegetation, with negative impacts on biodiversity. The gall mite Aceria angustifoliae is the first biological control agent to be released in Canada to specifically reduce the Russian olive’s fruit production, and hence spread, without interfering with the tree’s use for shelterbelts or horticulture. Studies of the biology and host range of this mite and other potential agents are reviewed in this chapter, as well as recommendations for the next steps in developing a biological control programme for Russian olive.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
