Oxeye daisy, Leucanthemum vulgare , was likely introduced into North America as a contaminant of crop seed and is now widely established in Canada, where it is listed as a noxious weed in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Oxeye daisy affects pasture productivity, promotes soil erosion, and is a contaminant of pedigreed seed lots. Managing L. vulgare is difficult, especially where the plant is well established; integrated approaches combining chemical, mechanical and cultural tactics are advised. Because L. vulgare is not closely related to any native plants, it is a good candidate for biological control and foreign exploration for agents started in 2008. The chapter reviews several potential biological control agents, including Dichrorampha aeratana , which first releases took place in British Columbia and Alberta in 2023.
