Abstract
In this workshop, we invite participants to think through ways to bridge the gap between Internet infrastructures and human-centered design. Through presentations, discussions and hands-on activities facilitated by a diverse group of global experts in Internet network infrastructure development, HCI and social sciences, we will explore ways to tackle the persistent challenges of unequal connectivity and the complexities of designing inclusive networks. Our focus is on creating networked infrastructures that are not only technically robust but also deeply embedded with human, community and societal values. Featuring presenters from Malaysia, India, Singapore, Mexico, and Canada, this workshop is a call to action for researchers and practitioners from marginalized communities in the Global South and beyond to rethink how meaningful connectivity from community-centered perspectives can shape the design of Internet infrastructures and services.
