Abstract
Les statistiques des inscriptions des programmes d'immersion et de français langue seconde (Alberta Learning, 2002), démontrent une baisse substantielle dans le nombre d'élèves qui sont inscrits dans le programme d'immersion en 7^sup e^ année et qui terminent leur deuxième cycle du secondaire dans le même programme. Pendant l'année scolaire 2001-2002, la commission scolaire Edmonton Public Schools à initié une l'étude Renewal of French Language Programs in Edmonton Public Schools dans le but de promouvoir les programmes en français (immersion française et français langue seconde) et d'augmenter les inscriptions dans ces programmes (Edmonton Public Schools, 2002a, 2002b).
