Abstract
Introducción: la prosodia es el componente del lenguaje que incluye características acústicas que contextualizan el mensaje y proporciona sentido a un discurso, existen dos tipos: emocional y lingüística.La aprosodia se refiere al déficit en la producción y comprensión de estos elementos suprasegmentales lingüísticos, su afección está causada por lesión en el hemisferio cerebral derecho, principalmente por un accidente cerebrovascular o traumatismo craneoencefálico, generando deficiencias cognitivas y comunicativas.Existen baterías de medición y diagnósticas que detectan dificultades de comunicación típicas de las interacciones sociales.Las alteraciones en las cualidades expresivas del lenguaje afectan áreas interpersonales de la vida, reduce la participación, el funcionamiento interpersonal y calidad de vida de quienes lo padecen, por lo que el tratamiento se adapta a la fisiopatología específica del individuo.Objetivo: presentar un caso clínico de aprosodia y las alteraciones lingüísticas presentadas.Presentación del caso: se describe el caso de un paciente de 56 años que presentó un evento vascular isquémico en el hemisferio derecho, se le aplicó el test de afasia de Western y el protocolo para la evaluación de la comunicación de Montreal y se realizó un análisis cualitativo del discurso expresivo y receptivo.Discusión: se estima que 26% de los pacientes con daño en hemisferio derecho mostrará deficiencias en el lenguaje expresivo y receptivo, lo que generará alteraciones prosódicas sutiles en el lenguaje que interfieren en la comunicación.Conclusión: la aprosodia es una patología compleja que puede pasar desapercibida, requiere un manejo multidisciplinario y valoración integral.Existen baterías diagnósticas que deben aplicarse para su diagnóstico, permitiendo áreas de oportunidad en el tratamiento rehabilitador.
