Abstract
Chapter 10 concerns resource management in sensor-based systems and smart facilities that often leverage sensors for their monitoring, control, and management. Middleware services that are used in the management of smart facilities are introduced. Various types of smart facilities, such as sensor-equipped bridges and research collaboration platforms, are described. A sensor-based bridge management system and a cloud-based collaboration platform for researchers of smart facilities are presented. Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are often used in smart facilities. Resource management algorithms for WSNs shared by multiple applications are discussed in detail. These algorithms can be categorized into two broad categories: knowledge-based and knowledge-free based on whether or not they use knowledge of application and/or system characteristics. Both techniques for sensor allocation for increasing the WSN lifetime and sensor request scheduling for reducing processing latency are described. The chapter includes performance analysis of the different allocation and scheduling algorithms.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
